Avneet Kaur meets Tom Cruise, gushes about her favourite scene from Digger: ‘It takes a tremendous amount of skill’
Here's the latest update from the Bollywood world:
Star Avneet Kaur attended the world premiere of Tom Cruise starrer Digger in London on September 23. The star has now shared a special interaction with the Hollywood superstar on her Instagram account.
Adding to this, Avneet Kaur met Tom Cruise to talk about Digger. Avneet meets Tom Cruise Tom hugged Avneet as the two met and then sat down facing each other to talk about Digger. Tom shared, “To get this movie made, it takes a tremendous amount of skill, ability and imagination. I have never read a character like this. We just keep learning, keep creating.” Avneet gushes that she has never seen him play such a character before. She asked him if he had a favourite scene from the movie.
Meanwhile, Tom smiled and shared, “Every day on set with Alejandro and the crew- it was such an outrageous character. We are looking at that monologue that I had, that was a 10 minute-monologue in one shot. It was just all one take.” Avneet shared that she was shocked and surprised to see the scene, and felt that the star must have really connected to the character to have brought that part out in the movie.

As per the latest buzz, Tom replied, “It is a rhythm. As an star one knows the beats to play. Alejandro's staging is perfect and it is a dance… I only did the scene a couple of times but it is all one take. I just showed up and did it. To be able to have that opportunity to play that, to show that transition, to show how you discover characters… the voice for Digger where it is something that is going to service the story. The comedic timing, I was also wearing a fat suit which was quite heavy… so yeah it is a dance, it is a rhythm, that was so much fun to play.”
In further updates, The HT review of the movie lauded Tom Cruise's performance and noted, “Digger’s story is staged like a play with long uncut shots, choreographed movements across the frame, and elaborate sets. Why Iñárritu chooses to tell the story this way is revealed in the movie. But it adds to not just the movie’s aesthetic but also the bizareness of it all. Digger always feels like a fever dream, but one that has the potential to hurt you in real life as well. It helps that the performances are top notch. Tom Cruise delivers one of his best in years, bringing to the fore the disdain, arrogance, and sheer apathy of a billionaire who is only concerned with money. His 10-minute monologue is a masterclass in staging, framing, and choreography where the star and the director collaborate to give a memorable sequence.”
