Notably, In her second movie, Tara replaced Katrina Kaif in Anurag Basu's 2003 movie Saaya. Later, in conversation with Bollywood Bubble in 2022, Katrina herself admitted that she was replaced by Tara and recalled how she felt her career was over at the time.
As per the latest buzz, She shared, “I got thrown out, not thrown out, let’s say replaced, in a movie called Saaya, which was an Anurag Basu movie with John Abraham and Tara Sharma. After shooting one shot, not one day but just one shot. At that time I thought my life was over. I thought my career was over.”
In further updates, Her first hit came with the comedy Masti (2004), in which she starred alongside Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani. This was followed by critically acclaimed films such as Page 3 (2005) and Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006). However, soon the offers started drying up for Tara and she moved towards character roles.
