Star marriages have long been under the scanner, with followers and the media watching their every move. While some relationships have stood the test of time, survived gossip and rumours to last decades, others have crumbled within months of the couple saying 'I Do'. Over the years, Bollywood and the Hindi entertainment industry at large have seen several high-profile marriages that were surprisingly short-lived. With rapper Badshah and star Isha Rikhi announcing their decision to part ways just five months after their hush-hush marriage, they now join the list of some of the shortest unions. From reality-show weddings to shocking deaths and divorces, here's a list of some of the shortest star marriages reported in the industry.
Adding to this, Rapper Badshah and Punjabi star Isha Rikhi have revealed their decision to go their separate ways, just five months after getting hitched. Following weeks of speculation about trouble brewing in paradise, the couple verified the news through joint statements on their Instagram Stories on Monday night. Badshah wrote in his post, "Badshah wrote, “I and Isha Rikhi have mutually decided to part ways and move forward on our separate paths. This decision has been made with mutual respect, and we request everyone to kindly respect our privacy during this time (sic)”. "This will be our only statement on the matter. We sincerely request that there be no further speculation or assumptions regarding our relationship (sic)”, he added. Badshah married Isha Rikhi in an intimate ceremony in March 2026, after as per reports dating for around four years. The wedding was kept largely private, with pictures later surfacing on social media through Isha’s mother, Poonam Rikhi. Their five-month marriage makes theirs one of the shortest star marriages in the Hindi entertainment industry in recent years.
Meanwhile, One of the most dramatic short-lived star marriages was that of television actors Ali Merchant and Sara Khan. The couple took the plunge on the sets of Bigg Boss 4 in November 2010, with their wedding being broadcast as part of the reality show. However, the marriage crumbled in just two months. By January 2011, Merchant verified that he and Khan had separated. At the time, although the star cited incompatibility issues, reports also alleged that the marriage may have just been a publicity stunt. Years later, Merchant admitted that both he and Sara were very young and unable to deal with the pressures surrounding their relationship, while Sara insisted, "I married Ali because I loved him and not for money or to gain some cheap publicity as many say."
Notably, Another doomed marriage involving a former Bigg Boss contestant was that of Mandana Karimi and her businessman beau, Gaurav Gupta. The two as per reports wed in January 2017 following a two-year relationship. Their marriage, however, quickly ran into trouble and within six months, Karimi took legal action against Gupta and his family, alleging "domestic violence" and other grievances. The two lived together for about six to eight months before they separated, though they legally remained married for several years until their divorce was finalised in 2021.
As per the latest buzz, Karan Singh Grover of late clocked a decade of marital bliss with his star wife Bipasha Basu. However, several years before, he had two short-lived marriages. The star first married Shraddha Nigam in December 2008, but their marriage lasted only about 10 months and they called it quits in October 2009. Grover subsequently married Jennifer Winget in 2012, but that marriage too ended in divorce two years later.
In further updates, Pulkit Samrat married his long-time love, Shweta Rohira, in November 2014, however, the two parted ways less than a year after marriage. Amid rumours of the star allegedly getting close with his co-star, the two abruptly revealed the end of their 11-month marriage. Pulkit later went on to marry star Kriti Kharbanda in 2024.
