Govinda warns of ₹100 crore legal action against ‘false’ claims about court marriage and divorce with Sunita Ahuja

Bollywood star and former MP Govinda has issued a legal warning against the circulation of what he describes as false, defamatory and unverified claims about his personal and family life. The warning comes amid heightened public interest in his relationship with wife Sunita Ahuja and recent speculation surrounding his equation with star Komal Rani Swarnkar . His legal notice states that those found spreading such content could face legal action and that damages of up to ₹ 100 crore rupees may be sought.

Adding to this, Govinda is currently hospitalised in Mumbai. All about the notice issued The notice, issued on Govinda’s behalf, cautions media organisations, digital platforms, social media users and content creators against creating, publishing, uploading, broadcasting or sharing material that is allegedly false, defamatory, malicious, fabricated or unverified. It also specifically raises concerns over the circulation of photographs, videos, audio recordings, morphed images, deepfakes and other AI-generated or manipulated content.

Meanwhile, According to the notice, Govinda has not authorised anyone to create, alter or commercially use his voice, photographs, identity, likeness or material relating to his private and family life through artificial intelligence or other digital technologies.

Notably, The legal warning comes amid recent social media claims about Govinda’s reported court marriage with Komal Rani Swarnkar. Previous reports surrounding the divorce between Govinda and Sunita had also made headlines before being disputed. The notice as per reports states that Govinda believes certain rumours may be part of a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation and cause him mental and social distress.

As per the latest buzz, As per details shared by Govinda’s team, the star may pursue civil and criminal remedies under laws relating to defamation, privacy violations, identity misuse and cybercrime. The notice refers to provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. It also warns that further legal proceedings could include requests for court orders concerning the assets and financial accounts of those found responsible, along with other measures available under the law.

In further updates, Govinda’s personal life has been under intense public scrutiny in recent weeks. The star was of late spotted at an airport with his rumoured girlfriend Komal Rani Swarnkar. Following the sighting, Sunita referred to Govinda as Komal’s “sugar daddy” and questioned their public appearances. Govinda later shared a video in which he asked Sunita to refrain from making statements he claimed could harm his reputation, career, and standing in the movie industry.

On top of that, On August 19, Sunita was spotted leaving the Bandra Family Court with their son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, subsequently verified that Sunita had withdrawn her divorce petition, which had as per reports been pending for around two years.

Sunita later claimed during a phone conversation with Rakhi Sawant that she withdrew the petition because Govinda was allegedly planning to marry Komal. Govinda’s manager has since dismissed the claim, stating that there were no plans for a second marriage.
