On Saturday, it performed even better, setting up the stage for a massive opening weekend for the romantic actioner.

On Saturday, Awarapan 2 registered 32% occupancy across India for its morning shows, which jumped to 70% for the afternoon shows. The numbers are expected to increase further during the evening and night shows.
Meanwhile, Awarapan 2 has been selling over 20k tickets per hour on BookMyShow all through Friday and Saturday. This is a remarkable pace for any movie without a superstar. On Friday, it took the sequel all of eight hours to overtake the lifetime business of the first Awarapan. The 2007 ticket-window dud had collected just ₹ 7.75 crore rupees net. By Saturday afternoon, the movie was surpassing the final collections of even the hit films Emraan Hashmi has given. It has already surpassed the likes of Haq ( ₹ 20 crore rupees), Raaz 2 ( ₹ 25.50 crore rupees), Ek Thi Daayan ( ₹ 26 crore rupees), and Jannat ( ₹ 30 crore rupees).
Notably, Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 brings back Emraan Hashmi in his iconic role of Shivam Pandit. The movie also stars Shabana Azmi, Disha Patani, and Suvinder Vicky. The movie received mixed to positive reviews, but praise for Emraan Hashmi’s performance and the tone.
