Anurag Kashyap shares marriage plans with 20-year-younger GF Shubhra, says he ‘tried to push her away’ after age-shaming

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been in a relationship with Shubhra Shetty for nearly a decade. In a recent conversation with Janice Sequeira, the filmmaker and Shubhra spoke about their relationship, the scrutiny they have faced because of their age difference and whether marriage is on the cards for them.
Adding to this, Anurag Kashyap says he is at peace since he has been in a relationship with Shubhra Shetty. Anurag Kashyap on whether he wants to get married to Shubhra Shetty When asked about their plans to marry, Anurag opened up that Shubhra doesn't believe in marriage and added, “I’m very happy to be with her. I want to be with her. So, whatever that takes. There’s a lot in life. What is an old man’s insecurity? I want to be healthy enough to outlive the people I love. Because if it doesn’t happen, then what can happen after that? The ways of the world. So, I think about it a lot. But my thing is, as long as we have found what we have found now, I’m happy with anything. I don’t want to lose this.”
Meanwhile, Shubhra recalled that she and Anurag were in their honeymoon phase and deeply in love when she casually mentioned that being in love was on her bucket list and that she could happily die after experiencing it. However, Anurag became emotional and teared up. He told her that before meeting her, he had never been afraid of dying and did not care if he got into a car accident. He shared that, for the first time in his life, he had found something worth living for and therefore did not want to die. Shubhra described it as the sweetest way of looking at their relationship.
Notably, Anurag shared that the age-shaming no longer follows them, although they have had their "share of troubles". He added, "We’ve had our moments. We have been self-conscious. I’ve been more conscious.. And not just more conscious, at one point, I became so conscious, I was trying so hard to push it away. There was a point because her face doesn’t show her age. She still looks the same. She doesn’t look her age. So the thing is, the more I grew older and she kept looking the same, that’s when I became slightly conscious.” While Anurag is 53 years old, Shubhra opened up that she is in her 30s.
As per the latest buzz, Shubhra Shetty previously worked as an assistant director at Anurag's production company, Phantom Films. Anurag was first photographed with Shubhra in 2015, but it was only in a 2018 interview that he first admitted to being in a relationship with her.
In further updates, Before his relationship with Shubhra, Anurag was married to editor Aarti Bajaj. The couple ended their six-year marriage in 2009 and share a daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap. Anurag later began dating star Kalki Koechlin, whom he married in 2011. They ended their marriage after four years.
