Awarapan 2 box office collection day 1 (updated live): Emraan Hashmi film sails past part 1's lifetime haul in 9 hours

Awarapan 2 ticket-window earnings day 1: Emraan Hashmi ’s Shivam Pandit has finally got his due at the ticket-window, it seems. Awarapan 2, the sequel, got off to a record-breaking start at the ticket window, poised to shatter records for Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Films. It has also already surpassed the lifetime collection of Awarapan , the first part, before the end of day 1. Awarapan 2 is tracking to have one of the biggest openings for Bollywood in 2026 and has comfortably outpaced Batwara 1947, the Sunny Deol-starrer that clashed with it at the ticket-window on August 14.

This makes the movie the highest-earning title in the fledgling franchise already. The first Awarapan, rolled out in 2007, was a ticket-window failure and collected only ₹ 7.76 crore rupees during its lifetime. Awarapan 2 took all of 8 hours to cross that mark.
Meanwhile, Awarapan 2 has been selling over 20k tickets per hour on BookMyShow all through Friday. This is a remarkable pace for any movie without a superstar. This means that it will cross not just ₹ 10 crore rupees but, in all likelihood, ₹ 20 crore rupees on its first day itself. This makes it the biggest opening of Emraan Hashmi’s career. So far, only two of Emraan’s films have had double-digit openings. Raaz 2 opened at ₹ 10.35 crore rupees in 2012. The record for Emraan was then broken by Baadshaho, which collected ₹ 12.60 crore rupees on its rollout day in 2017. Awarapan will easily leave both titles in the dust with its pace.
Notably, The first Awarapan had an opening-day collection of ₹ 79 lakh and netted ₹ 2.88 crore rupees in its first weekend. Even after accounting for inflation, this was a low figure.
As per the latest buzz, Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 brings back Emraan Hashmi in his iconic role of Shivam Pandit. The movie also stars Shabana Azmi, Disha Patani , and Suvinder Vicky. The movie received mixed to positive reviews, but particular praise for Emraan Hashmi’s performance and the tone.
