Schools were open in Karnataka on Thursday, August 13, amid the bandh called by Kannada organisations to protest the rollout of the Cauvery’s waters to Tamil Nadu.

Notably, Further, the association shared that academic activities had been badly impacted owing to teachers being deputed for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The government-aided schools, which face an acute shortage of teachers, would be badly hit by the closure.

As per the latest buzz, As per the Deccan Herald report, members of the school management, teachers, and other non-teaching staff would wear black ribbons or a black strip as a symbolic gesture of support for the bandh.

In further updates, The school body has also urged schools to utilise this opportunity to educate students about the Cauvery dispute. Students in classes 5 to 12 can be taught facts about the dispute either during the morning assembly or in the classroom.

On top of that, In the capital city of Bengaluru, police shared schools and colleges, offices, shops and commercial establishments, public transport and other normal activities were expected to function as usual. Members of the public were requested to continue daily activities without fear or apprehension.
