Batwara 1947 first review: Sunny Deol, Abhimanyu Singh deliver terrific performances in ‘deeply sensitive, moving film’

Star Sunny Deol ’s much-awaited movie Batwara 1947 is set to rollout in theatres on August 14. A day ahead of its rollout, filmmaker Ramesh Taurani, who attended a screening with producer Aamir Khan and star Ali Fazal , shared his review of the movie. He lauded it as a deeply moving story and shared it deserves to be watched “First Day, First Show”.

As per the latest buzz, The filmmaker also lauded Rajkumar Santoshi’s direction, writing, “Kudos to @rajkumarsantoshi.official for once again telling a story that strikes an emotional chord with audiences. His ability to bring humanity, emotion and heart to his films is truly special.

On top of that, Helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie stars Sunny Deol as a Muslim man who moves to Pakistan during Partition, only to find a Hindu woman, played by Shabana Azmi, still living in his new home. As tensions rise, he takes responsibility for protecting her while keeping his family safe.
The movie marks Preity Zinta’s comeback to the big screen after almost a decade. It also marks the first on-screen collaboration between Sunny and his son, Karan Deol, who plays his son in the movie. The ensemble cast also includes Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, and Kanikka Kapur.
