Sai Sudharsan's availability for Sri Lanka Tests in serious doubt
Here's what's trending across India right now:
India's injury woes could deepen with Sai Sudharsan's availability for the soon-to-release two-Test series against Sri Lanka now in serious doubt. The 24-year-old left-hander has been nursing a toe injury and was a notable absentee when the Indian squad travelled to Sri Lanka earlier this week.
Adding to this, Sudharsan also missed the ongoing warm-up game in Colombo. He had been expected to link up with the squad over the weekend, but his fitness situation has now become increasingly doubtful, with his travel to Sri Lanka looking unlikely.
Meanwhile, A final call on Sudharsan's participation is expected after the second day's play in the ongoing warm-up game in Colombo, following discussions with the team management.
Notably, His absence would add to India's growing list of injury concerns ahead of the first Test. Jasprit Bumrah is already unavailable, while Washington Sundar is also dealing with an injury, although he has not yet been officially ruled out of the second Test. Captain Shubman Gill, meanwhile, missed the warm-up fixture after sustaining an impact injury while batting in the nets on the eve of the game.
As per the latest buzz, If Sudharsan is unavailable, Devdutt Padikkal is expected to slot into the No. 3 position. Padikkal strengthened his case with a fine 142* in the warm-up game.
