Adding to this, Prime Video India has unveiled the trailer for the second season of “ The Traitors ,” the unscripted star competition series hosted by Karan Johar , set to debut exclusively on the platform on Aug. 13. New episodes will drop every Thursday.
Meanwhile, Filmed against the backdrop of Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Season 2 features 21 star contestants drawn from across entertainment, music, and digital media: Aaditya Kulshreshth (Kullu), Abhishek Malhan (Fukraa Insaan), Ansh Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Ikka Singh, Karan Singh Magic, Krystle D’souza, Mallika Sherawat , Munawar Faruqui, Parul Gulati, Prish, Ranveer Brar, Rhea Chakraborty, Rida Tharana, Sahil Salathia, Shahneel Gill, Shalini Passi, Shweta Tiwari, Soundous Moufakir and Tanya Puri. Johar is joined this season by a new character, Boo, billed as the harbinger of the “Buri Khabar” (bad news). Notably, The show follows the established format: a group of Innocents must identify hidden Traitors before being eliminated, while the Traitors work to stay concealed and pick off their opponents. Popular on Variety
As per the latest buzz, Johar shared: “Season 1 of ‘The Traitors’ broke through the clutter and formulaic reality content, and the audience response proved they were ready for something fresh. With Season 2, we knew we had to return with a game that was bigger, sharper, and even more unpredictable. But this time, the Players entered the palace fully aware of the format’s twists and traps, armed with strategies, stronger instincts, and a ruthlessness that caught me off guard. This season, you’ll witness friendships unravel, trust give way to paranoia, alliances crumble, and Players make choices that genuinely surprised and at times, even shocked me. That’s the beauty of ‘The Traitors’ – just when you think you’ve figured it out, the game turns everything on its head. As the host, I’ve had a front-row seat to some truly unbelievable moments, and I can honestly say I wasn’t prepared for what unfolded this season.”
In further updates, The trailer launch follows a promotional event in which Prime Video unveiled the full contestant lineup through a “Dining Theater of Treachery” experience. The series is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment – the digital content arm of Dharma Productions – in association with All3Media International, a global distributor that handles the format’s rights across more than 30 territories. The format, developed by IDTV, has won both BAFTA and Emmy Awards.
