As part of this year's Pride initiatives, TELUS is partnering with and donating to several charitable organizations that are making a meaningful impact in the LGBTQ2+ community, including Vancouver’s A Loving Spoonful , a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV and co-existing illness in Metro Vancouver. This year’s Pride Match will take place during Vancouver Pride Week, leading into the Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday, August 2.

It'll mark the first meeting between the two teams since the memorable 2025 Western Conference Semifinal at BC Place, which saw the 'Caps dramatically defeat the Black and Gold in a shootout to progress to the Western Conference Final. The Blue and White will be looking to build on head coach Jesper Sørensen's impressive home record of 24W-5L-6D across all competitions, which has seen Vancouver score 90 goals, post a +55 goal differential, and keep 16 clean sheets. The match itself, which will also celebrate the club's 13th annual Pride Match presented by TELUS, has already surpassed over 34,000 tickets sold.

In further updates, LEAGUES CUP 2026: Following the match against LAFC, the 'Caps will begin their group stage play in Leagues Cup 2026. This will be the third time Vancouver participates in the tournament, having reach the Round of 32 in their previous two appearances in 2023 and 2024. The Blue and White will open up Leagues Cup with a pair of home matches against Atlante FC on Tuesday, August 4 and against FC Juárez on Friday, August 7 - marking the first time the 'Caps have met either team. They will then hit the road for their final group stage encounter against familiar foes Tigres UANL on Tuesday, August 11 at Estadio Universitario.

On top of that, 'CAPS IN CHARLOTTE: Wednesday night saw a pair of 'Caps represent the club in the MLS All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina. Midfielders Andrés Cubas and Thomas Müller both came off the bench and played 27 minutes in the All-Stars' 4-3 victory over LIGA MX All-Stars. The two became the 11th and 12th Whitecaps FC players to be named to the league's annual marquee event. Tuesday also saw Müller make a bit of history, as he won the shooting skills challenge with a record score of 79.
