Spider-Man 4: Sadie Sink’s MCU Role Has Critics Shocked for This Reason

Ever since the announcement of Sink joining the Marvel movie, several rumors surfaced about what her role would be. The most popular guess was that she would be playing X-Men's Jean Grey . This notion further gained steam when Steve Lacy accidentally verified the presence of the character in the movie. However, till now, that mystery is under wraps.
Adding to this, Meanwhile, that has not stopped the praises from pouring in. The ones who attended Spider-Man: Brand New Day's premiere seem to be thrilled with the emotional performance from Sink. The Hollywood Reporter wrote , "Without giving too much away about the role, the Stranger Things star's compelling performance puts a new face on a familiar character and a painful new backstory to drive her actions, perhaps setting up future appearances."
Meanwhile, Per Deadline , "the mysterious character played to the hilt by Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) who proves without question she has the chops to take on a complex three-dimensional role of a young woman whose confused mental state, and own personal loss, makes her every bit as alone as Peter Parker himself has become."

As per the latest buzz, Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up four years after the events of No Way Home. Towards the end of the last installment, Tom Holland's Spider-Man requested that Doctor Strange erase everyone's memories about Peter Parker. This resulted in everyone forgetting who he was.
In further updates, Due to Doctor Strange's spell, Parker's girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend, Ned Leeds, played by Jacob Batalon, have also forgotten his identity. Navigating life alone, the friendly neighborhood superhero comes across the characters of Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Scorpion (Michael Mando). The movie also has Mark Ruffalo reprise his role as Bruce Banner.
On top of that, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is scheduled for a July 31, 2026 rollout.
